A Filipino woman has tied the knot with a Pakistani man upon her arrival in the country.
The 26-year-old woman, during an interview with Aaj News, shared that she and her 31-year-old husband met in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where they both worked at the same place and fell in love. Reflecting on her conversion to Islam and adoption of the name Zainab, she expressed gratitude for the care provided by Muhammad Salman in the city.
Salman, originally from Punjab’s Liaquatpur, disclosed that he has been employed in Dubai for the past seven to eight years. “Upon returning home, we received the family’s approval and proceeded with the marriage,” he stated.
This union echoes another cross-cultural marriage where a Filipino girl wed her lover from Larkana, Pakistan, via a phone call last September. A local boy named Auhfaq Sheikh from Ghazi Abbas area of Larkana married his Filipino partner, Maneka. The wedding ceremonies were held at the respective homes of the bride and groom, with the marriage registrar officiating their Nikah over the phone.
The groom recounted how he initially connected with his partner through Facebook. Despite her reluctance to relocate to Pakistan and his unsuccessful attempts to obtain a Philippine visa before the Nikah, their bond endured, culminating in marriage.
