ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has predicted rain with strong winds, wind, and thunder in most places of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab and Balochistan during the next 24 hours.
According to the Meteorological Department, a strong westerly wave is affecting most parts of Balochistan and it will spread to the upper regions on April 18. Heavy rain may cause flooding in the rivers and canals of Balochistan, especially in Gwadar, Jiwani, Pasni, Ormara, Kech, Awaran, Kharan, Panjgur, Washik, Nushki, Lasbela, Khuzdar and Kalat. While low-lying areas may be flooded.
Heavy rains may cause flooding in Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, Mansehra, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and Kabul Rivers from April 18 to 20.
Landslides are likely in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Guliyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan and vulnerable areas may be affected from April 18 to 21. Wind, hail, and lightning can damage standing crops, electricity poles, vehicles solar panels, etc. during this period.
During the last 24 hours, there was rain in Balochistan and Sindh in Karachi with wind and thunder. Meanwhile, there was heavy rain in South Balochistan as well. Mithi was the hottest place in the country on Wednesday where the temperature soared to 42 degrees Celsius.
