HAFIZABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan lashed out at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif, saying that a person sitting in London is attacking the state institutions including the judiciary and the Army.
He was addressing a mammoth public gathering in Hafizabad today (Saturday) after laying foundation stone of development projects including a hospital and a University.
“The PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif is speaking the language of India to protect the looted amount,” he said, adding, “Our policies aimed at reducing poverty, uplift the poor segments of society and ensure rule of law in the country.”
Announcing reliefs for the citizens, PM Imran vowed to built a 400-bed district hospital and a university in Hafizabad. “This is your need and our responsibility,” he remarked.
“I was pleased to know that the Punjab government has decided to introduce health insurance to 50 percent for the province in 2020 and expand it to entire province next year,” he asserted.
The Prime Minister further said, “When illness befalls the house of an ordinary citizen, this health card will provide medical insurance of one million – you can get treatment in public or private hospitals.”
“For the first time in the country’s history, an ordinary citizen will feel contend to have health insurance in case a family member gets sick,” he said. PM Imran also pointed out that even the richest countries do not provide the medical insurance that PTI has introduced in KP and Punjab.
“If you have ever witnessed, most rural areas don’t have private hospitals, because people do not have the money,” he added. The premier highlighted that this will allow the construction of private hospitals in the under-developed areas as people will be empowered to seek treatment there.
Highlighting other steps, PM Imran said, “We built the country’s first panah gahs where daily wagers are given food and roof to sleep. It helps one to send the entire amount to his family,” he added.
“Until now you can only make a house when you have money. However, now, under Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme – anyone can build a house by taking out a loan on 5 percent interest,” he maintained.
The premier added, “Many people promised ‘roti, kapra aur makaan’ but this will be the first time people will have their own homes.”
