ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a stern warning to social media users, urging them to protect their identity and avoid engaging with fake tracking IDs and misleading information circulating online.

A NADRA spokesperson said the authority will not provide tracking IDs through comments on social media platforms, stressing that citizens should never share personal tracking details in such spaces.

The directive aims to safeguard citizens’ personal information and prevent misuse of sensitive data.

The spokesperson advised the public to rely only on official sources and verified platforms for matters related to NADRA. For inquiries regarding tracking ID cases, citizens have been instructed to use SMS service 8400, NADRA helpline [051‑111‑786‑100](tel:051111786100), mobile helpline [1777](tel:1777), or the PakID mobile app.

NADRA further cautioned against trusting unverified links, accounts, and messages on social media, noting that such practices expose users to identity theft and fraud. “Citizens must remain vigilant and ensure their personal information is protected,” the spokesperson emphasized.

According to the preliminary report, the incident was not caused by an air-conditioner compressor explosion or an electrical short circuit. Instead, the fire reportedly broke out after a nebulizer attached to an incubator, used to monitor oxygen levels, exploded.
