SWABI: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser says peace in Afghanistan is vital for the prosperity of the entire region.
Addressing a function in Swabi on Sunday, he said Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan which will bring positive impact on the situation of the whole region.
Asad Qaiser said Rashakai Economic Zone will create hundreds of job opportunities besides promoting economic activities.
He said the economic activities were badly affected due to the worldwide pandemic of corona.
The Speaker National Assembly further said the government is taking pragmatic steps for welfare of people including launching of mega projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Earlier, Pakistan provided eight more truckloads of humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan, a statement from the Pak-Afghan Cooperation Forum said. The aid including flour, rice, and pulses was handed over by Landi Kotal Assistant Commissioner Akber Iftikhar to in-charge of the Torkham border crossing Ghaziullah Hashmi.
The Pak-Afghan Cooperation Forum via the Ghulam Khan border had a day earlier handed four trucks carrying 70 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. The trucks were carrying flour, sugar, rice, oil, and pulses.
