LAHORE: The video of cleric Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman sexually abusing his seminary student has been found genuine without any alterations
The forensic report of the video proves that individuals who appeared in it were Mufti Aziz and a seminary student. The report concluded that “no editing features were found in the visual content” of the videos.
Lahore Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Investigations Shariq Jamal said that forensic facial analysis of the ‘person of interest’ has confirmed that the facial features of the victim and the accused named Aziz-ur-Rehman matched the facial features of the persons of interest seen in the videos,”
He said no evidence of editing was found in the video clip according to the forensic analysis report. However, the DNA test of the accused came back negative as the crime happened several years ago.
Mufti Aziz had has retracted his statement in court after he confessed to the incident action. He pleaded innocence in his response after the video had gone viral. He had confessed to his crime during police interrogation after his arrest from Mianwali.
The victims had alleged that Mufti Aziz had banned him from examination for three years on allegations of appearing for another student in the exam. When the student asked for permission, he claimed Mufti Aziz asked for sexual favours to get him passing marks.
The student said he lodged complaints before various authorities but no one believed him due to the cleric’s old age. Mufti Aziz is currently in jail on judicial remand.
