Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz on Monday announced a free bus service for female students in every tehsil of the province.
She made this announcement in a high-level meeting regarding transport projects in the province. On this occasion, she ordered the concerned authorities to prepare a free school bus project for female students in every tehsil. She stated that it is the responsibility of the government to resolve the suffering of the people
In the meeting, the Punjab government approved the plan to provide 657 eco-friendly buses for the best transport facilities in the major cities of the province.
During the meeting, a details briefing was given to the CM on 2 0,000 electric bikes and 657 eco-friendly urban bus projects in Punjab.
During the briefing, it was informed that in the first phase, diesel hybrid regenerated buses will be operated in different cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Bahawalpur, while the bike project will be launched from May 9.
Maryam Nawaz directed to reduce the amount of advance for the students because the people are facing economic difficulties, and the government will have to bear the burden.
