RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi police claimed to have arrested a man suspected of sexually assaulting a minor girl, Ratta Amral police said.
The man was arrested after a first information report (FIR) was lodged on the complaint of a five-year-old girl’s father in the police station.
The complainant alleged that the suspect forcefully took her daughter in his house within the jurisdiction of Ratta Amral Police station Rawalpindi where he drugged and raped the victim, the FIR said.
The FIR was lodged under Articles 367(A) (kidnapping or abducting in order to subject person to grievous hurt, slavery, etc.), 377 (unnatural offenses), 337(J) (causing hurt by means of a poison) and 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Police have shifted the victim to the hospital for medical attention. SP Rawal Rai Mazhar said that the accused would be presented to the court by fulfilling all the legal requirements with concrete evidence.
He said any kind of violence against children is intolerable. According to the law, the accused Munir will be severely punished.
