Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) Sindh President Mahmood Moulvi has said the Peshawar High Court’s decision to restore the Bat symbol to PTI despite electoral violation is ‘astonishing’.
In his press statement, the President of IPP Sindh, Mahmood Moulvi, said that the Supreme Court has already stated that such decisions do not fall within the jurisdiction of high courts. However, a decision by a high court to exceed its jurisdiction and award the symbol to a specific party nationwide raises serious questions.
He mentioned that ignoring legal objections and delivering a verdict is the worst example of judicial fairness. The decision of the Peshawar High Court proves that there are still judges affiliated with a party in the courts, who are biased in favor of their favorites and providing relief to their party against national interests.
He stated that even the terrorists involved in the May 9 incident are being continuously provided relief by specific judges of the judiciary. So far, relief has been granted to politically motivated terrorists in 116 cases from the same court, which is a moment of concern.
Former MNA Mahmood Moulvi emphasized that the Supreme Court should take notice of controversial judicial decisions on awarding symbols. Biased decisions in political matters will harm the credibility of the judiciary.
