LAHORE: Lahore High Court has adjourned the hearing on the shortage of petroleum products till 14th July.
LHC Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan conducted the hearing where he ordered to formulate a high-level inquiry commission for the investigation of the petrol crisis.
The court instructed the Attorney General to prepare Terms of Reference (TORs) in collaboration with Judicial Assistant, Awais Khalid, and Azhar Siddique on the shortage of petroleum products.

The Attorney General pleaded the court for some time to consult with the government over the names for the commission.
The chief justice expressed resentment over the government and said, “The federal government provided the benefit of Rs 7 billion to petroleum companies by fining them Rs 40 million only”.
CJ Muhammad Qasim remarked that the commission should be impartial that could be able to question the Prime Minister as well.
The court will recommend the formation of commission over the matter, however, the government will decide whether to formulate the commission or not, CJ Lahore High Court added.
Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim said that the court will recommend the names if the Attorney General failed to suggest the suitable names for the commission.
