TEHRAN: Iranian Army Chief Major General Amir Hatami has said that the war with the United States is not over and has instead entered an “important and decisive phase.”
According to Iranian media, Hatami instructed the armed forces to remain prepared for any possible new attack. He said Iran had achieved success in the conflict, but stressed that consolidating those gains was essential.
Hatami said Iran would not accept any external pressure, while the Iranian armed forces remained fully prepared to respond to any potential attack.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials said diplomatic contacts were continuing over a possible ceasefire with the United States and the situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz. Hatami said the strategic waterway was closely linked to Iran’s sovereignty and national dignity.
