KARACHI: A case has been registered in Consumer Protection Court Karachi against a shopkeeper by a man for breaking his wife’s favorite shoe.
The man in the petition stated that his wife bought a shoe for Rs. 1600 which was torn in two a few days later. Also and because of this, his wife was very sad as it was her favorite shoe, he claimed in the petition.
The citizen said that if he complained to the shopkeeper, but he was not ready to solve the problem. The petitioner demanded that action be taken against the shopkeeper for selling faulty shoes and heavy fines should be imposed.
Karachi East Consumer Court has accepted the petition of the citizen and summoned the shopkeeper for the next hearing.

It should be noted that most of the shopkeepers sell faulty items at high prices. However, those who complain about the defectiveness of these items are treated very inappropriately. A few weeks ago, a shopkeeper in Karachi’s mobile market was severely beaten by shopkeepers for complaining about his phone being repaired.
