Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz is all pumped up to welcome its supremo and former prime Nawaz Sharif nearly after four years on October 21 (Saturday). The preparations are underway in Punjab to accord a historic welcome Sharif, who had been in self-exile in London after leaving Pakistan in 2019 on medical grounds.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders including Maryam Nawaz, Hamza and others are holding public gatherings to set the tone for the welcome. Earlier it was reported that Nawaz Sharif will land in Lahore on October 21 from Dubai, but now the sources claim that he will land in Islamabad around 1pm on the same day.

A dedicated aircraft has been chartered for the departure of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif from Dubai to Pakistan.

Sources said PML-N UAE has directed the members to cooperate fully with the authorities at Dubai Airport, ensuring strict adherence to the law while refraining from any public demonstrations or slogans within the airport premises.

Sharif who was handed over a seven-year prison term by an accountability court in the Al-Azizia reference has moved to the Islamabad High Court for protective bail.

The protective bail petition was filed in the IHC by Nawaz‘s legal team to restrain the authorities from arresting him when he returns back to the country on October 21. IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb conducted the hearing on the bail ple and issued notice to the anti-corruption watchdog which had filed references against the former PM.

In the initial hearing, it was reported that the NAB prosecutor said the body did not have any objection if Nawaz Sharif wanted to return home.

Seems like the stage is being set for Nawaz Sharif to become prime minister for the fourth time but the hearing in the Islamabad High Court will make things clear for Elder Sharif in the future.
