Universal and Blumhouse’s PG-13 “M3GAN” is aiming to generate $17 million to $20 million from 3,400 North American theaters in its opening weekend. Those ticket sales would mark a scary-good start because the modestly budgeted horror film cost just $12 million to produce. Let’s have a look at what netizens have to say:

#M3GAN is a ton of fun. It relies on the ridiculousness of the premise while delivering just enough thrills to avoid becoming a parody. A great film for your first trip to the movies of the year! pic.twitter.com/HGs0s4XYV1

M3GAN is this generation’s Chucky. The film is equal parts horror and comedy. Highly intelligent, witty, and vehemently dangerous, she’s one bad bot. From an entertainment perspective, Megan is a one size fits all doll that most everyone would likely enjoy. #meganmovie #M3GAN pic.twitter.com/UJRrO1Iqhc

#M3GAN : what a demented joy to not be disappointed by hype for once. I snort-laughed three times and said “I love her” at least a dozen.

#M3GAN // #M3GANMovie is a goddamn RIOT. Bonkers and brilliant. Finds a smart balance of camp and sharp sentiments about grief, trauma & tech over-reliance. Houses the best needle drop (on piano!). Violet McGraw is a powerhouse. Built for repeat viewings. pic.twitter.com/o4qSp8Uawr

Having seen #M3gan twice and loved it, every uninformed hater I see saying it’s going to be bad has made me unreasonably angry. Glad the reviews are off to a good start, showing what I’ve known to be true for weeks: This movie fucking rules. The campy tone is perfectly executed. pic.twitter.com/y1lyDl821m
