The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has rescheduled intermediate exams due to overlapping exam centers.
According to the updated announcement, exams for pre-engineering, pre-medical, and science general groups will now commence from May 6 or later.
This change also impacts the second phase of exams, covering Commerce and Arts, which will now be held at a later date as well.
BIEK attributed the delays to several factors, including the unavailability of exam centers, adjustments in first-year results due to grace marks, and the absence of a chairman, which hindered exam preparations.
The Board of Secondary Education Karachi shared that matric exams will continue across Karachi until May 2.
Many exam centers currently hosting matric exams are also allocated for intermediate exams, so these centers will transition once matric exams are completed. Moreover, the revisions in first-year results contributed to the postponement.
Originally, matric exams in Sindh were scheduled to start on March 15 and intermediate exams on April 8. However, concerns raised by private school associations about holding exams during Ramadan prompted further adjustments. These changes aim to ensure a smoother and more practical exam schedule for students.
