ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister Hamad Azhar has resigned from the organizational positions of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Hammad Azhar has sent his resignation to the party leadership, in which it is said that after much deliberation, he has decided to resign from the posts of PTI Punjab General Secretary and President.
Hammad Azhar said that he felt that for effective leadership in the party in Punjab at this time it was necessary to be present in the field and to have direct access to the founder of PTI. He said that he would work as a party worker.
It should be noted that despite the significant success in the general elections, PTI failed to reach power, and due to the failure of the party to hold elections, the party had to merge with the Sunni Ittehad Council.
For the past few days, reports of differences between the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the Sunni Ittehad Council have been emerging.
Hammad Azhar remained a federal minister in the PTI government, but after the end of Imran Khan’s government, he and his family also faced severe difficulties.
