ISLAMABAD: The federal government has planned to reopen marriage halls and parks after a continuous drop in coronavirus cases.
Hammad Azhar, Federal Minister of Industries and Production in this regard said that the government has submitted proposals over the SOPs which will be reviewed at a meeting of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC).
He added that the NCOC meeting would consider the opening of tourism, wedding halls, and parks. “The hall owners have consistently taken the position that they want to open their own business with SOPs for which the government and the administration should negotiate with them, but no significant progress has been made so far,” he added.
The marriage hall owners had also presented a formula to the government in this regard, in which a practical demonstration was shown on how to run a business under SOPs.

As per the formula, the chairs in the hall were kept at a distance and a disinfection gate was also installed at the main gate of the wedding hall while the food was served to the guests at the table.
The owners demanded that the government allow the opening of halls under SOPs and that violators be punished and fined.
Marriage halls and parks in all four provinces were closed due to the coronavirus. The ban on wedding halls has left thousands jobless, while the business of food centers and marriage bureaus has also been affected.
