PUNJAB: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said on Friday that the government is gradually moving towards lockdown of the cities due to increasing threats of coronavirus (COVID 19).
Talking to a news private channel the Governor said the federal government with negations of all stakeholders will be made the final decision.
He further said this is a hard time for the whole nation, adding that all the provinces, political parties should unite their efforts to battle this common enemy, Sarwar added.
Talking about Pakistani nationals in China he said the government came under insensitive criticism from everyone when it forbid to bring back Pakistani nationals stuck in China.
He added now everyone is praising the decision for not bringing them back for their own good. He further said the federal government was in close contact with several international countries to shield the national economy from bad blows of COVID 19.
The Governor also urged the citizens to assume all protective steps to defeat the coronavirus outbreak. The new coronavirus spread to several countries across the world, jumping the death toll over 2,835 and infecting 85,000, mostly in China.
The number of deaths in China has also dawdling significantly, with the National Health Commission registered only three new fatalities, the lowest daily increase since it started publishing figures in January.
The crisis has moved from Asia to Europe, China’s death toll, now at 3,248, was overtaken on Thursday by Italy, where more than 3,400 people have now died due to the diseases.
