SYDNEY: All-rounder, Glenn Maxwell was recalled to the Australian one-day and T20 squads for the tour of South Africa today (Tuesday).
Maxwell has returned to the international team since taking a break to deal with mental health issues in October.
The Australian all-rounder will play the upcoming three-ODI series and three-T20 series in South Africa. He was not picked for the series against India.
He has returned for the national duty after an impressive Big Bash league, as he scored 389 runs with an average of 43.22.
National Selector Trevor Hohns said, “It is fantastic to have Maxwell back in both squads given his brilliant form in the middle order in the Big Bash league along with his results with the ball.”
Maxwell on his recall to the national team said, “I think now I get mentally right to perform and play well without any mental scars or anything like that going on behind.”
