LAHORE: A local court on Friday extended the physical remand of four suspects in the case pertaining to the alleged assault and abduction of two foreign women for four more days.
Judicial Magistrate Azhar Mahmood heard the remand request as police produced suspects identified as Reza Dar, Rizwan, Nawaz and Nasser before the court on expiry of their previous remand.
The prosecution informed the court that a vehicle allegedly used in the commission of the offence had been recovered from the suspects, and sought further custody for the recovery of remaining case property.
“Weapons, cash and jewelry are yet to be recovered from the suspects,” the prosecution submitted, requesting an extension in physical remand for completion of investigation.
After hearing arguments, the court extended the physical remand of the four suspects by four days and directed the investigation officer to produce them again on the next date of hearing along with the progress report.
Police have registered a case against the suspects on charges of assault, abduction and extortion. Further investigation is underway.
