Fresh wave of unrest and terrorism

Along with the pile of problems in the motherland, the new wave of terrorism has created a new challenge for the citizens and the rulers. On one hand, the economy is not recovering and on the other hand, successive incidents of terrorism are causing more problems in the country.

The attack of terrorists on the CTD compound in Bannu and taking hostage of many officials is not only a matter of national concern, but international powers are also closely examining these incidents of terrorism.

On Wednesday, the spokesman of White House, Ned Price, not only expressed sympathy with Pakistan, but also offered the help of the United States to Pakistan. The recent terrorist incident in Bannu was possible only because of the support and protection of the Afghan Taliban to the TTP.

In the current situation of Afghanistan, it will not be difficult to understand that the Afghan Taliban and TTP are considered to be one and the same, which is not too difficult to understand. The Taliban released 800 TTP prisoners as soon as they took over Afghanistan, despite Pakistan’s demands for the handover of these terrorists.

Harmony of tribal, culture and blood relations, prevents the Taliban from going against the TTP.  These elements worked against the Soviet Union (United Russia) and then against NATO forces together. They have mutual relations, similar ideas and connections, while the current Taliban government occupying Afghanistan has an official position on these matters.

Although, the Afghan Taliban refuse to support any terrorist group, but the fact cannot be denied that terrorism and terrorist groups still exist in Afghanistan, and all these facts point to the undeniable bitter reality that the Taliban government is avoiding taking action against TTP terrorists. Apart from this, the intentional and unintentional association of the Afghan Taliban with other terrorist groups is not only an alarm bell for Pakistan but also a cause of concern for other countries.

If we review the history, the Mujahideen who were cultivated by Pakistan later changed their ideology and started fighting and terrorist activities against the allied forces and gradually these Taliban gained the strength to ignore the need and support of Pakistan.

Here, of course, Pakistan will not be very happy to remind its foreign policy at that time, because for what is happening now, it will be enough to say only that:

یہ جو آوارگی شبنم ہے۔اس میں کچھ جرم آفتاب بھی ہے

After achieving its goals and defeating the Soviet Union, the US withdrew from Afghanistan and did nothing to rehabilitate the Mujahideen, who were later turned into terrorists. Different groups of terrorists started operating on their own with the help of our enemy countries. TTP was extremely weak without the support of Taliban and could not carry out this kind of terrorism.

Here it is also important to say that the Pakistani rulers continued to celebrate the victory of the Taliban but could not develop strong and integrated relations with the Taliban. If this is not considered our weakness, then what should be considered?

Pakistan had signed a ceasefire agreement with TTP, under which there was peace for some time, but now that agreement has been broken and a new wave of terrorism has come in Pakistan and now there has been a lot of intensity in terrorist attacks, which is a matter of great concern.

The resolution passed by the UN Security Council last year should be implemented.

his happened in August last year and again in September, the demand was repeated that there should be no trace of any terrorist group in the Taliban, which includes more than half a dozen terrorist groups, and the international community asked the Taliban government of Afghanistan to do this. They have also demanded the Taliban to provide basic human rights to the people, especially women and children, and if this is not done, the international community will not provide any kind of support to Afghanistan.

Various analysts, including this scribe had opined that the TTP would once again become active and terrorism would increase. And then happened the same what was predicted. The TTP remained silent for a certain time and then started attacking Pakistan’s security forces and targeting our military personnel which they had already announced.

Now TTP has also targeted CTD and Pakistan’s security forces are also determined to thwart the attacks of TTP. Earlier Pakistan Army had carried out major operations against terrorism in order to eradicate terrorism from the entire region.

Now, since Pakistan is also establishing diplomatic ties with the Afghan Taliban government and when action is taken against the TTP, some innocent also fall prey of it, due to with such actions of Pakistan are not liked by the Taliban government.

Undoubtedly, this is a complex situation, but Pakistan has to deal with it with full prudence. But it is only possible when there is a political stability in the country. If the politicians failed to bring political stability in the country, the action against terrorism can be not only difficult but also impossible.
