DUBAI: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has met his United Arab Emirates (UAE) counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on his two-day official trip to Dubai.
Taking to Twitter after the meeting, Shah Mehmood Qureshiwrote, “[I] spoke with H.H @ABZayed on the situation in South Asia, conditions in #IIOJK and discussed peace in Afghanistan. Pakistan appreciates UAE’s cooperation during the #COVID19 pandemic.”

The two foreign ministers exchanged views on the positive progress with regard to efforts for bringing peace in Afghanistan and deteriorating peace and security situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
FM Qureshi further said that Pakistan and the UAE have deep, historic and fraternal ties. “The UAE has always supported Pakistan in the hour of trial,” he said. He added that about 1.6 million Pakistanis living in the UAE have been contributing to the UAE’s development for the last many decades.
Earlier. the foreign minister had exchanged views with the Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a range of issues of mutual interest, including the matters pertaining to the welfare of the Pakistani diaspora.
FM Qureshi called on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The foreign minister also conveyed the warm regards of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.

FM Qureshi also requested Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to encourage UAE’s business community to explore immense investment opportunities in Pakistan.
Wishing Dubai Expo 2020 a resounding success, FM Qureshi expressed gratitude to the UAE government for enabling Pakistan to participate effectively in the event. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening and augmenting existing strong bilateral relations with the UAE.
