PESHAWAR: A large fire has broken out at an oil depot in Nowshera city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) due to unknown reasons in which nearly 30 oil tankers were left completely destroyed.
On realizing the severity of the fire, the Rescue Nowshera center sought help from Mardan and Charsadda districts which sent their teams for taking part in extinguishing the fire.
The firefighters have started their operation from different angles and are busy accomplishing the task.
According to initial reports, there are about 150 oil tankers parked in Taru Oil Depot while a number of them are taken out of the premises.
The blaze has so far engulfed around 30 oil tankers, the Rescue statement said.
According to some media reports, firefighting teams have failed to douse the raging fire at the oil depot despite seven hours of effort.
Due to the horrific blaze, fire brigades from all across the Nowshera city, Mardan and Peshawar were called to the oil depot to take part in the firefighting mission.
The reasons behind the large fire were not yet known.
