ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in the federal capital has once again issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and several other key leaders in a case registered in connection with the November 26 protest.
The case was heard by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra. During the proceedings, the court expressed displeasure over the police’s failure to submit the case challan despite repeated directions and ordered the investigation authorities to submit it at the earliest.
As the proceedings continued, the court reissued non-bailable arrest warrants for the KP chief minister, Junaid Akbar and other leaders. The hearing was subsequently adjourned until October 9.
The case against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and workers was registered at Margalla Police Station in Islamabad in connection with the November 26 protest.
