KARACHI: Customs Intelligence has raided Jama cloth market in which a trader hurled stones at police while protesting during which cop’s opened fire injured two people.
During the raid, shopkeepers put up strong resistance, fierce protests, and pelted stones at the police party. Police opened fire in the air to control the situation. Two persons injured in the firing and pelting of stones have been shifted to the hospital.
According to SSP South, Customs Intelligence raided the Karachi Jama cloth market, however, police opened fire in the air after traders hurled stones at the police.
On the other hand, the protesters on the Jama cloth market did not even spare the hidden ambulances. The protesters severely damaged and vandalized the five hidden ambulances.
It may be recalled that earlier Pakistan Navy and Customs Intelligence had seized liquor worth crores of rupees during a successful intelligence-based operation in the sea of Kund Malir near Ormara. More than 5,000 bottles of liquor were seized.
During September this year, the Pakistan Navy, Customs Intelligence, and Investigation Directorate Gwadar in a joint raid seized 5,400 bottles of liquor worth Rs 70.5 million.
