ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has dismissed Planning Department Director Faraz Malik over misuse of power, supporting land encroachers and other complaints.
Faraz Malik was accused of promoting several housing societies and creating legal hurdles for others which cause immense losses and a barrage of complaints were received against him. Since 2004, Malik facilitated in receiving a greater market share for Gulberg Society and Bahria Town and overlooked several legal loopholes in the layout plan.
While on the other hand, he said to have created legal obstacles for other housing projects, thereby causing hefty losses to investors. Malik delayed the approval of several other housing societies as investors are only investing in CDA-approved projects.
Sources informed that they were sent to Malik’s front men for the approval of the housing projects. These men then allegedly demanded hefty amounts on Malik’s behalf, causing a blotch on the performance and reputation the organisation.
It has also been revealed that Malik received massive kickback worth millions in the approval of housing projects and laundered the money abroad. Malik along with several other colleagues had not informed his superior over the status of these housing societies and causing massive losses to citizens.
