KARACHI: Bulls ruled the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday as the benchmark KSE-100 Index closed at 48,053.17 points, gaining 805.25 points, or 1.70%.
The benchmark KSE-100 remained in the green zone throughout the session, closing at 48,053.17. Among other indices, the KMI-30 Index accumulated 1,589.56 points to end at 78,061.02, while the KSE All Share Index added 435.19 points, closing at 32,774.47.
Trading volumes inclined to 475.2 million shares today as compared to 412.2 million shares during the previous trading day, while the daily traded value also moved down to Rs21.3 billion from Rs14.9 billion in the previous session, the data said.
Sectors leading the market included technology and communication (162.70 points), cement (144.20 points) and banks (106.93 points). Shares of 429 companies were traded on Thursday, of which 312 registered an increase, 96 recorded a fall, while 21 remained unchanged.
TPL Corp Ltd was the volume leader with 30.16 million shares, followed by WorldCall Telecom with 28.43 million shares, and TRG Pakistan at 27.39 million shares.
