The Government of Balochistan has decided to arrange overseas medical treatment for Dr. Mah Noor Nasir, the lady doctor who was injured in a recent acid attack.

According to Balochistan Chief Minister’s Adviser for Information, Shahid Rind, the Chief Minister’s Secretariat has formally issued directives to the relevant authorities for Dr. Mah Noor Nasir’s treatment abroad, following the instructions of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.

Dr. Mah Noor Nasir is currently receiving treatment at Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi, where her medical care is expected to continue for another week. Following this phase of treatment, she will be sent to the United States for specialized medical care. The Government of Balochistan has already initiated the necessary arrangements for her transfer and treatment.

The provincial government has stated that all available resources are being utilized to ensure that Dr. Mah Noor Nasir receives the highest standard of medical care and rehabilitation.

The incident occurred on June 6 in the Surgical Ward of Sandeman Provincial Hospital in Quetta, where an elevator operator allegedly threw acid on Dr. Mah Noor Nasir, causing serious injuries. After receiving initial medical treatment in Quetta, she was transferred to Karachi for advanced care.

According to police reports, the suspect, Humayun Shah, fled the scene following the attack. During a subsequent search operation, law enforcement authorities attempted to arrest him.

However, the suspect reportedly refused to surrender and opened fire on the police. He was later killed in an exchange of fire during the operation.
