The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has announced the restoration of health cards to provide free medical services to the public.

This decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, as reported by a private TV channel.

Following the meeting, Finance Minister Abdul Majid Khan briefed the media, stating that the cabinet has approved the health card initiative for the public, a loan scheme for skilled youth, and a Rs1 billion fund for local representatives.

However, the service was suspended in 2023 following the ouster of Imran Khan’s government.

Residents of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) had been urging the government to prioritize the restoration of health cards, similar to initiatives in other provinces.
