SUKKUR: Accountability Court has extended the hearing of the assets case filed against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah till 8th June.
The hearing was adjourned due to no appointment of a new judge in the Sukkur accountability court. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed assets beyond means reference of Rs 1.23 billion against Khursheed Shah and 17 co-accused.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has also nominated two wives, two sons and son-in-law of Khursheed Shah in the reference.
Shah was granted bail by the court in December after the accountability bureau’s delay in filing reference against him. However, the Sindh High Court (SHC) Circuit Bench Sukkur later suspended the accountability court’s orders to grant bail to the veteran Peoples Party leader.
He was arrested on 18th September last year by the NAB in Islamabad in a joint raid by the anti-corruption watchdog’s Rawalpindi and Sukkur bureau.
He is facing charges of possessing assets amounting to Rs500 billion through illegal means.
