ISLAMABAD: A young woman died while another was seriously injured after falling from a hotel building in Islamabad under suspicious circumstances.
The women rented a room at a hotel in Bahria Town together with two men last evening, police said. All of the youngsters in their mid or late 20s and hailed from Gujrat.
The women fell from the fifth floor of the hotel building at around 7:30AM on Monday one after the another, police added. One of the women died on the spot while the other sustained serious injuries.
The security guards saw the women falling and informed the hotel staff who rushed to the scene where they found one of the women dead and the other critically injured.
The body and the wounded girl were shifted to the PIMS hospital. The men attempted to flee the hotel after the incident. The security staff tried to stop the two men and one of them was injured after a guard opened fire on them. The police have taken both men into custody.
Police said it would too early to say whether the women fell themselves or were pushed from the building. However, police suspect the men threw them from the balcony and an investigation is underway.
