KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to move Sindh High Court (SHC) against the appointment of Ziaur Rehman, brother of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, in Karachi.
Rehman was recently appointed as Deputy Commissioner in Central district of Karachi by the Sindh government, a move criticised by several political parties considered a violation of Supreme Court’s directives.
PTI leader Haleem Adil Shaikh said consultation with legal counsel is underway and the party will file a petition in SHC in upcoming days. He said the party does not any issue with Rehman but his appointment in Sindh was illegal.
He said the Sindh government requested to transfer services of Rehman in January but is now refusing to send him back to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa despite the federal government’s decision. He asked whether the province was lacking civil service officers.
