KARACHI: Another distressing incident highlighting the persistent issue of women’s insecurity has emerged from Karachi’s Azizabad Block 2. A veiled girl was reportedly harassed by a motorcycle-riding assailant while walking near a technical school in the area.
According to widely circulated CCTV footage, the accused approached the victim from behind as she carried groceries.
In a brazen act of violence, he sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene. Shockingly, the perpetrator returned moments later, circling back to attack her a second time.
The footage has sparked outrage across the city, with many demanding immediate action to ensure the safety of women in public spaces.
Local authorities have confirmed that an investigation was launched as soon as the incident was reported.
Preliminary findings reveal that the accused had purchased biryani from a nearby shop shortly before the attack. This detail has enabled police to gather additional CCTV footage from the vicinity, significantly aiding their efforts to identify and apprehend the suspect.
A senior police official stated, “We are actively pursuing all leads and have obtained critical evidence from local businesses. The accused will be arrested soon, and we are committed to bringing him to justice.”
