ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information Technology has decided to launch an anti-fraud awareness campaign to protect citizens from scammers seeking to exploit the Prime Minister’s special petrol relief scheme.
Federal Minister for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja has directed the ministry to complete preparations for the campaign. She said scammers could attempt to defraud citizens using the name of the petrol relief scheme, making public awareness essential.
The federal minister urged citizens not to trust suspicious calls or messages received in connection with the petrol relief scheme and advised them not to share their personal information with anyone.
Shaza Fatima said details of individuals registered under the Prime Minister’s special relief scheme would be released today. She added that steps were also being taken to address difficulties faced by citizens during the registration process.
According to the minister, registration may fail if an applicant selects the wrong province or enters their date of birth in an incorrect format. Citizens have been advised to select the province where their vehicle is registered when completing the registration process.
