800 workers of other parties will join PSP: says Kamal

KARACHI: Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Chairperson Syed Mustafa Kamal has criticised Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday for being willing to talk to his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, but not meeting with the Sindh Chief Minister to resolve the issues being faced by Sindh.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the party claimed that over 800 office bearers and workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) joined the PSP.

“We have no sympathy with the Sindh CM but the PM has to speak to him for the sake of the people,” said Kamal in the statement which quoted him as speaking at a press conference held on Sunday. He added that after the 18th Amendment not a penny can be spent in Sindh without the consent of Sindh government and everything is in the hands of the CM.
“If I had been in the PM’s place, I would have bowed down in front of my worst opponents for the sake of my people,” claimed Kamal.  He censured Khan for holding on to his ‘ego and anger’ and lamented that “not even Rs162 had been released after promises of a Rs162 billion package for Karachi by the PM”. The PSP chairperson asked whether Sindh and Balochistan were not part of the country. Kamal claimed that people were duped by the false promises and slogans of Khan while promising PSP’s supporters progress and development of the country if his party were to come into power. “The country cannot be run merely on the PM’s mood,” he said.

Kamal criticised the former and current governments for failing to address the problems of the nation. “Today, the judiciary, the army and all other institutions are with the government but the government itself appears to be nowhere,” he said while maintaining that workers of the other parties were joining the PSP as they saw PSP as a party with answers to their problems.
PSP President Anis Kaimkhani and other PSP office bearers were present on the occasion, read the statement.
