The office of the Karachi Traffic Police Chief on Wednesday announced a traffic diversion plan for processions and religious gatherings scheduled to be held across the city on the 7th of Muharram.
According to the traffic police, special arrangements have been made in the Model Colony and Malir City traffic sections to ensure smooth traffic flow and facilitate mourners participating in Muharram processions.
In the Model Colony and Malir City traffic section, a procession will be taken out from Qaimia Imambargah after Maghrib prayers. The procession will pass through Chattai Ground, Bakra Piri, Naeem Hospital, Mohammadi Dera, Malir Mandir and the street in front of Malir City Police Station before concluding at Qaimia Imambargah at around 10:00 pm.

To minimize inconvenience, traffic coming from Steel Town will be diverted from Manzil Pump towards Younus Chowrangi, while vehicles from Radio Pakistan will be directed towards Dawood Chowrangi. Traffic entering from the city will be diverted from Malir Halt towards Jinnah Avenue Road and Model Colony.
Separately, a Tazia procession in Malir City will begin from Ram Body Building near Qutbia Mosque on Memon Goth Road after Maghrib prayers. The procession will proceed to the Main National Highway before returning via Gosht Gali and concluding at its starting point.
Citizens have been advised to plan their travel accordingly. For traffic updates and assistance, commuters can contact the Traffic Helpline at 1915 and tune in to Sindh Police FM 88.6.
