45 flights cancelled, 125 delayed due to bad weather, Middle East tensions

Flight operations across Pakistan were severely disrupted on Tuesday due to escalating tensions in the Middle East and adverse weather conditions, leading to the cancellation of dozens of flights nationwide.

According to the flight schedule, 45 flights were cancelled, while 125 flights were delayed. In addition, two flights bound for Islamabad, one from Dubai and another from Karachi, were diverted to alternate airports.

From Karachi, 23 flights to Dubai, Sharjah, Jeddah, Istanbul and Abu Dhabi were delayed. Meanwhile, 41 flights from Islamabad to Sharjah, Jeddah, Kabul, Bahrain, Manchester and London also faced delays.

Islamabad International Airport was affected by overnight thunderstorms and heavy rain, while fog during the day further disrupted flight operations.

In Lahore, rainfall and administrative issues caused delays to 15 flights bound for Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Dammam and Muscat.

A thunderstorm alert remained in effect at Peshawar Airport, where seven flights were delayed.

Flight operations were also affected at other airports, with 11 flights delayed in Multan, 13 in Sialkot, and two each in Faisalabad and Quetta.
