Security forces killed 13 terrorists from the Indian proxy group “Fitna-tul-Khawarij” during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on September 25, 2025, in the Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan, based on intelligence reports.

The military spokesperson stated that the operation targeted militants associated with the Indian-backed proxy group Fitna-tul-Khawarij, who were reportedly present in the area.

Weapons and explosives were also recovered from the deceased terrorists. According to ISPR, the group was involved in multiple terror activities in the region, including facilitating the suicide attack in Daraban in December 2023, kidnapping of government officials and innocent civilians and target killings.

ISPR added that a clearance operation is ongoing in the area to eliminate any remaining India-backed militants. Security forces remain committed to eradicating the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.

Earlier, in a separate statement, the military spokesperson said that 31 terrorists belonging to the same Indian-backed group were killed during two intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on September 13 and 14.

According to ISPR, both operations were launched against the Indian proxy group Fitna-tul-Khawarij, resulting in the neutralization of 31 militants.
