Islamabad’s administration has rejected viral claims about a citywide shutdown, clarifying that no closure has been ordered.
Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon said a widely shared notification alleging that all public and private offices in Islamabad and Rawalpindi would close from April 20 is false.
He added that educational institutions in the capital will operate as usual on Monday, saying that authorities have not made any decision regarding school closures.

In a message posted on X, he urged residents to avoid spreading unverified information and to rely only on official government channels for updates.
Separately, the Cabinet Division issued a late-night directive saying that ministries and federal offices located in the Red Zone will work from home on April 20. Officials and staff have been instructed to remain available and report to duty at short notice if required.
Authorities also announced temporary entry restrictions in the Red Zone, with police diverting traffic and implementing alternate routes as the capital prepares for potential foreign delegations.
