KARACHI: Both teenage girls missing from Karachi on Monday recovered from different parts of Punjab while it has also been reported that they both had left home themselves to get married.
Fourteen-year-old Dua Zahra, resident of Malir Al-Falah Society Karachi, had disappeared from her home some 10 days back, while the other teenager Nimrah Kazmi went missing from the Saudabad area of Karachi some a week ago.
Police on Monday recovered these girls from different cities in Punjab. Police said both the girls left the homes of their own will and got married in Punjab.
It has been reported that Nimrah Kazmi is married to Najib Shah Rukh in Dera Ghazi Khan, while Dua Zahra also got married to a boy in Lahore.
The question arises here is that why do Karachi girls flee to Punjab for love marriage? The answer is that, under the Sindh Child Marriage Act 2013, the age limit for a girl at the time of marriage is 18 years whereas in other provinces the age limit is 16 years.
Taking advantage of 16 years of age limits the teenagers fleeing Punjab for registration of their lover marriage, so that avoid any legal issue because of Sindh Child Marriage Act 2013.
It may be recalled that after the disappearance of the two girls, the intelligence agencies of the country had also become very active and every effort was being made by them to recover the girls safe and sound.
