ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has warned that if the federal government attempts to impose an emergency in the country or introduce Governor’s Rule in any province, the party will use all available options to respond.
In a statement, Barrister Gohar said such measures would further worsen the country’s political situation. He said PTI would strongly condemn any decision to impose Governor’s Rule.
He also made it clear that the party’s upcoming long march would remain completely peaceful. However, he said no final decision had yet been taken regarding resignations from the National Assembly amid reports and speculation about the possible imposition of Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Barrister Gohar reiterated that provincial autonomy was essential for a strong and stable federation, stressing that the provinces must have the authority necessary to strengthen the federal system.
