22-year-old Zain Turabi was the son of a prominent Shia Muslim cleric, the late Allama Hassan Turabi.
The young man was killed in a fatal traffic accident in Sehwan Sindh on Friday along with renowned Naat and Manqbat Khwaans of Gilgit-Baltistan Khawaja Ali and Zain Turabi. Two other people also passed away in the car accident.
Allama Hassan Turabi was a prominent Pakistani Shia Muslim cleric, and chief of the main Shiite political party, Tehrik-e-Jafaria Pakistan. He was assassinated by a Sunni Bangladeshi on 14 July 2006 following his return from an anti-Israel protest regarding the 2006 Lebanon War.
Zain Turabi and the other four deceased, including Syed Jan Ali Rizvi Khawaja Ali were on their way back to Karachi from Khairpur Sindh following attending a religious event when their car had an accident in Sehwan Sharif.
The incident occurred near Manjhand when the vehicle carrying Kazim, Syed Jan Ali Rizvi, Zain Turabi, and two others, met with a fatal collision while traveling to Karachi.
The three performers were returning from Anjuman Haideri Khairpur, where they had participated in the annual celebration of Imam-e-Zamana.
Local authorities confirmed the accident took place on the highway near Sehwan Sharif, though specific details about the collision remain under investigation.
The news sparked an outpouring of condolences from followers and fellow artists across Pakistan’s religious poetry community.
