The first solar eclipse of this year will occur partially on Saturday (today), but it will not be visible in Pakistan, according to experts.
He said that the eclipse will begin at 9:50 AM Pakistan Standard Time and end at 5:43 PM. According to the astronomer, this phenomenon will be visible in parts of Europe, Asia, America, and the Atlantic Ocean. The second eclipse of 2025 will occur between September 21 and 22.
What is a solar eclipse?
This phenomenon occurs on Earth when the Moon comes between the Earth and the Sun during its orbit, resulting in either the entire Sun or a small part of it becoming invisible.
In terms of distance, the gap between the Moon and the Sun is 400 times greater than the distance between the Earth and the Moon, which is why the eclipse cannot be clearly observed from Earth. Moreover, it is also impossible for the phenomenon to be observed simultaneously worldwide.
It is worth mentioning that during the eclipse that took place in April 2024, such visuals were witnessed that had rarely been seen in recent times.
On April 9, a total solar eclipse occurred in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, turning day into night. This was a total eclipse in the US after a hundred years, and the next total solar eclipse will occur in the next century, 120 years from now.
