KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and former federal minister Asad Umar has said that PTI does not believe in closed-room politics, adding that Imran Khan came to power on the basis of people’s vote as he can feel the pain of miseries of the masses.
Speaking to media here on Sunday, Asad Umar said the between earning and expenses of the general public now ranged difference 7 to 8 thousand rupees as milk was now being sold at the rate of Rs.200 per liter while its price stood at around Rs.130 a year ago.
The Automobile sector is gradually shutting down its operations, he said, adding that a general worker earning Rs.30,000 per month is now under increased financial burden of Rs. 7 to 8 thousand rupees.
Asad Umar said that just a year back, bag of 20 kilos of flour was available at the rate of Rs.1159, while the price now mentioned at the website stood at Rs.1619. Besides this, he said, the price of edible oil had registered an increase by 33% in Pakistan.

“At present, the situation is very alarming in Pakistan, diesel prices increased by 65% and petrol by 53%, while contrarily the oil price in the international market had decreased by 75 to 80 dollars per barrel,” he added.
Asad Umar said a nationwide movement will be launched against rising inflation in the country. He recalled that the PTI-led government was removed from power on the basis of a campaign against rising inflation, while at the same time, illegal money was used to buy conscience of members of parliamentarians.

Replying to a question, Asad Umar said “these are initial days of Army Chief Gen Asim Munir in office, we can’t say if the Establishment’s policy changed or not,” adding that the unification of various MQM factions in Karachi wasn’t natural, so was the impression among the Karachiites, and that they were being unified (by someone), a reference to his earlier statement that the unification of different MQM factions in Karachi was ‘political engineering’.
