Two army soldiers martyred in Waziristan intelligence based operation

RAWALPINDI: Two Pakistan Army soldiers embraced martyrdom in exchange of fire with terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in tribal districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “Security forces conducted IBO in Spalga, Miranshah, and North Waziristan.”

The soldiers are identified as Havaldar Tajbar Ali, a 38-year-old resident of Swat and 22-year old Sepoy Rashid, a resident of Parachinar, said the military’s media wing.

Subsequently, the troops cordoned off the area for the search operation, it added. Earlier in the day, Security forces on Saturday killed four terrorists in an exchange of fire during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Awaran district.

According to a statement issued by the Inter Serves Public Relations (ISPR), an operation was conducted by the security forces after they received confirmation about the presence of terrorists in the central Makran range of the Awaran district.

The ISPR further said that security forces also destroyed the terrorist hideout and seized a large cache of arms, ammunition and communication equipment during the operation.

“Multiple hideouts and administrative camps of terrorists” were also destroyed in the operation, the military’s media wing added.
