MANSEHRA: A teenage boy and a girl were allegedly killed as they wanted to tie the knot against the wishes of their parents.
The incident occurred in Jarad area of Kaghan valley, district Mansehra. Police said the victims were cousins who wanted to marry each other but their parents disapproved.
“The parents and an uncle of both slain cousins were arrested as they were against their wedding and killed them in a room,” SHO Kaghan Wajid Khan told local media.
He said that Muhammad Amir and his paternal cousin wanted to tie the knot but the parents of both were against their wedding and killed them.
He said the girl wanted to tie the knot with her cousin instead of her fiancé. This angered the girl’s family who killed them both.
“When police rushed to the scene the families refused to get firs information report registered of the incident registered,” said Khan.
The boy’s father Muhammad Ari, the father of girl Muhammad Shahid, and an uncle of both were arrested and shifted to the police station. He said that the parents of the slain couple planned the killing before executing it.
