The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for stormy weather in Karachi on June 18, warning of possible rain accompanied by dust storms and thunderstorms.
As per details, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has directed all concerned departments at Jinnah International Airport to remain on high alert and ensure full operational readiness.
According to the Meteorological Department, Karachi is expected to experience dusty winds along with thunderstorms and rainfall over the coming days, prompting the issuance of an alert valid until June 18.
In response to the weather situation, the PAA has initiated precautionary measures and instructed all operational units at Jinnah International Airport to stay vigilant.
Authorities have been directed to relocate fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft parked on aprons and tarmacs to safer locations and secure loose equipment and other materials to prevent potential damage.
The airport authority has also ordered thorough inspection of electrical installations and cables, ensured the operational readiness of follow-me vehicles, and confirmed the serviceability of airfield lights and pits.
Officials said all relevant departments have been instructed to continuously monitor the weather situation and implement necessary safety measures to ensure secure flight operations.
Meanwhile, rainfall in several areas of Punjab, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has brought pleasant weather conditions.
