Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha lashed out against Indian news channels for dramatizing and sensationalizing India-Pakistan’s ongoing standoff.
On social networking platform Instagram, she described news reporting as too dramatic and full of unnecessary shouting and sound effects. She further said that the media should stop turning crucial issues into entertainment content rather than concentrating on reporting facts.
Our news channels on TV are a joke,” Sonakshi tweeted. “All they do is shout, dramatize, and frighten people. Just be honest.”
She cautioned that sensationalized reporting of this kind fills people with fear and confusion. She also cautioned people against watching fake news and taking only credible news sources.
“Stop dramatizing war. People are already frightened — don’t worsen it,” she added further.
Her statement came shortly after the Indian Ministry of Defence asked media channels not to show live coverage of military actions, saying it could harm national security and help enemies.
Sonakshi’s comments are being shared widely on social media, with many people supporting her call for responsible and truthful journalism.
