Smart lockdown imposed in Manghopir area of ​​Karachi

KARACHI: A smart lockdown has been implemented in the Manghopir area from today due to an increase in the coronavirus cases for 15 days.

According to the notification, restaurants, pillion riding and public gatherings will be banned in the affected areas. Pharmacy and grocery stores will be allowed to remain open while home deliveries will be allowed. Only one person will be allowed to come out of the house to buy essentials. Masks in and out of smart lockdown areas have been made mandatory.

The NCOC has also expressed concern over the growing number of coronavirus cases in the city. A meeting chaired by Commissioner Karachi has decided to close restaurants, wedding halls, and schools violating SOPs while three restaurants violating SOPs in South District have been sealed.

The Commissioner Karachi directed the Deputy Commissioners to check all the restaurants and marriage halls in their respective districts and restaurants and marriage halls would be closed for at least three days for any violation.

The meeting decided to increase corona testing in schools and close schools violating SOPs. Violations of SOPs in industries should be dealt with. Expressing concern over the increase in cases in the city, the health department had directed the concerned authorities to implement the SOPs.
