KARACHI: A case has been registered against six suspects in the murder of two brothers who were shot dead near the FTC Building a day earlier.
Police have registered a case on the complaint of the victim’s son. Four suspects include Shahnawaz Shah, Niaz Shah, Rehmat Shah and driver Muhammad Kamal while two others were unknown.
Local police said that the victim Syed Abid Hussain was shot three times in the chest along with his brother Sajid Shah who was shot once in the left arm and once in the nose. The two brothers were returning after appearing in the city court when the accused opened fire killing them both.
Police said the incident is the result of a long-running feud as cases have been registered against the victims in Defence, Mahmoodabad and Baloch Colony police stations.
The incident took place on Monday near Kalapul traffic signal where two motorcyclists were shot dead near the FTC building. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post mortem and legal proceedings.
Senior Superintendent (SSP) South said that the deceased were returning to their home after appearing before a court. He said the initial investigation suggests that the incident was a result of personal enmity. The deceased were booked in many cases at Mehmoodabad, Defence, Baloch Colony and other police stations.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah had taken notice of the killings and has sought a report from Inspector General Sindh. He expressed resentment over a surge in firing incidents in the last few days in the city and directed to immediately arrest the culprits.
